A few years back the Western United States were experiencing a terrible drought. Forest fires throughout California, Oregon, Arizona, and Colorado. Living Folklore wanted to honor the rain, and remind people that Water is Life. So we counseled with our Hawai’ian friends about a name for a Raing Goddess Puppet. Ma Ua o na’Lani means “Mother Rain from the Heavens” in Hawai’ian. The water parade included spray bottles to mist the crowd as we passed through!
